Yesterday at LnL's Lounge there was a very interesting discussion hosted by Lewis Luminos about disabilities in SL. A fantastic group of people gathered and many aspects of this topic were put up for debate with the help of a few guests who are experienced SL residents and who have been active in the mentoring field for a long time, particularly in helping those who need assistive technologies to enjoy Second Life. One of the organisations mentioned that is extremely interesting in this area is Virtual Ability. Their mission as stated in the website is "to enable people with a wide range of disabilities by providing a supporting environment for them to enter and thrive in online virtual worlds like Second Life®." You can sign up for Second Life through the website and receive useful information during the process. Thank you to the participants for sharing their experience, their expertise and their opinions! Join us next week for another discussion about a new topic!
