New at LnL's Theatre!

Sometimes it is interesting to travel back and watch a timeless film! You can do it now at LnL's Theatre where "Under Capricorn", a 1949 Alfred Hitchcock film based on a novel by Helen Simpson starring Ingrid Bergman and Joseph Cotten, is being shown. To watch this film, drop by LnL's Theatre and click Play to stream media. If for some reason you don't see the film, check if you have Media play activated. Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio & Video > Play Streaming Video When Available > Apply and try Play Streaming Media again. Invite a few friends, make yourself comfortable and enjoy the classic! Oh, and as in many of Hitchcock's films, he does appear here and there! Try to spot him!

Creative Christmas Grid-Wide Hunt!

If you are a builder or a creator in Second Life, this might be of interest to you. It's a hunt called Creative Christmas Hunt organised by Mandi Blanco.
It is a gridwide hunt going through a path of stores whose prizes are full perm items you may use in your creations. The starting point is at Christmas Lane (check the tracks on the floor with a Xmas tree, some of the stores have used them to guide hunters in the right direction). This Hunt has an in-world group called "Creative Christmas Gridwide Hunters". It is a very active, friendly and helpful group. For hints and the names of the participating stores check the Hunt blog. This Hunt lasts till December 22. Oh, and the object you are looking for is a small evergreen tree (see poster above). Happy Hunting!

Lewis Luminos will be hosting another discussion in the Lounge. This week - RL and SL Don't Mix! We'll be discussing the pros and cons of keeping anonymous in SL, of choosing how much or how little of RL to share in SL. Where, and when do you draw the line between privacy, and the need to know who you are dealing with? And how does that vary between the different types of relationships you have in SL - friendship, romantic, business? What rules of disclosure do you observe? Drop by LnL for a fun discussion amongst a group of friendly people!

Discussion: My SL Family!

Oh, yes! It's time again for a discussion! This Thursday! And a new topic!
Topic: My SL Family
Host: Lewis Luminos
When: Nov 4 at 2pm SLT
Where: LnL Lounge
Discussion: Why do some people collect a family in Second Life? Not just a partner, but other family members: sisters, brothers, children, parents. What does it mean to have such a relationship with someone in SL? What are the benefits and the pitfalls? How does it cause drama and how can that drama be avoided in such a relationship?

We'll be discussing these and other related questions. Join us! :)

New hunts, new prizes!

Three new hunts started at the beginning of November,
the Silk Road Hunt,

the Video Game Xtravaganza Hunt and

the Let's Go Nuts Hunt. All are a lot of fun and LnL's prizes are fantastic! Drop by to get them. For hints and info on the hunt object you will be looking for, click the red "i" by the posters! :) Happy Hunting!

Dicussion this Thursday!

On Thursday (4th) at 3pm SLT, Lewis will be hosting another discussion in the Lounge! This week - Something for Nothing. We'll talk about the freebie culture in Second Life, and why something that started as a simple way to help newbies has become such a source of great drama. Does the drama outweight the benefits? We'll be discussing these and other related questions. Join us! :) Hope to see you all there!

Note that this week due to time changes in many countries, the discussion will be held at 3pm SLT and not 2pm SLT. We'll switch back to 2pm SLT as soon as Pacific Time also changes!
