Bell of Firmament in Dalestra

Dalestra has been blogged in LnL's blog before and for a good reason. It's a very interesting sim that offers a lot of options for you to explore. This time, we are showing you The Bell of Firmament. If you arrive at the default Landing Point in Delestra, walk outside and look for the blue beam to teleport to the Bell of Firmament.

Or you can use this --> SLURL to go directly to the location. The Bell of Firmament is a device that renders constelations in 3D; it is capable of scaling, filtering and drawing connections between stars. It is a fantastic way to explore how the zodiacs could look like in space and to discover many of the others constellations. Its visuals are absolutely fantastic! Drop by for some fun and do share your experiences in the comments!

The Delestra Quest!

Taking a bit of a break from all the work we have done lately, moving the whole store and creating all the different environments for you to enjoy, London and I decided to take a look at the Destination Guide and find something interesting and different to do. We stumbled upon a game called the Delestra Quest. It is said that Delestra is a sim with a secret. The aim of the game is to find this secret by exploring the floating dockyard, the gothic castle, the temple, the Oriental village and the labyrinth, finding as many clues as possible. Talk to anyone you come across!

"Welcome stranger. If you are ready for the Delestra Quest touch me for a HUD and other information...please come close so I can see you!!" says the Demon merchant. As you are about to start the game, talk to him and grab all the information you can. Beware, he will try to sell you a few items, but you will most likely find them at a cheaper price elsewhere!

One of the clues you receive at the beginning says: "You have found yourself in a dockyard used for ship repairs, restocking of supplies and recreation. Delestra is famed for its dark sky and it can be an intimidating place full of strange cultures and places.

There are many legends of old times including stories of pilgrims, Enscharys elves, and unicorns but also demons and dark forces."

This is a fun game, that will probably take more than one session to finish. It is very interactive even taking you outside of Second Life to check for clues!

And at the end you receive a prize composed of several prizes! We won't reveal what so we don't spoil the surprise! ;)

A few tips:
* Be careful, the sim has a lot of objects around that are for sale. When you click something for a clue, do it intentionally and paying A LOT of attention!
* Walk around and get close to things; the clues are triggered by proximity. You'll hear a sound and the clue will appear both in local chat and on your screen.
* Every now and then, unwear and wear the HUD to update it.
* Check if the item indicated as having been loaded in your HUD is there. If not, repeat the step and it will appear without any further issue.
* Save a few LMs of key locations! Just a thought! ;)

This game is very well organised and rich in detail. It's a lot of fun to do by yourself or with a friend. Great job! To play the Delestra Quest, click --> here! Have fun!

Springtime Slaughter - a murder mystery!

London and I were trying to find something different to do and ran a search in the Second Life Destination Guide for inspiration! There were a few interesting options, but the Springtime Slaughter caught our eye, especially because of the fact that it was a challenge to our detective skills in solving an intriguing murder mystery!

You land in the Dragon's Den where you have to click the chest (check pic) and you'll receive a folder with a few important elements - a notecard with the story of the Spring Slaughter, a few indications on the game and a HUD. This HUD will be filled out with the information you collect as the game progresses! Finally, also in the folder, a texture of a grid that you can print and use as a database to take a few notes.

And the story starts... "It was a dark and stormy night... out at sea, the storm brought an unknown ship closer and closer to the shores of Heart of Dragons...

Wrecked upon the rocks, 6 rival En Garde players struggled ashore and looked at the tempting land they had happened upon. The six rivals were Ryan Retreat, Petrushka Parry, Annabel Attack, Lord Serious Alt (aka LSA), Damon Double-Lunge and Frieda Forfeit."

But something lurked in the darkness of their minds and they were obsessed, wanting to win the En Garde tournament although they lacked the skills to... "They sent out messages that they wanted to hold a tournament with the 6 best players the Champions of En Garde, Robin Rapier, Kelly Katana, Freddy Foil, Sam Sabre, Eddie Epee and Dana Dagger. But before the tournament could start, the champions were all dead."

The challenge is for you to solve the mystery, saving the noble game and the land from evil! Now, the champions were alive before noon and they were all dead after 10pm that same evening.

They all died in different places and times, having been killed by different weapons. Find the 18 clues hidden around the 2 two sims - Heart of Dragons and Dragon Nest - in the shape of murder weapons or paper scrolls. In the folder given to you at the beginning is also clue #19!

This is an extraordinary sim with amazing hidden spots and great places to sit for a while and simply enjoy. It is very well built and it provides the right environment to this murder mystery.

Use the wonderful locations to regroup and organise the information you have found so far!

Explore every corner and every possibility, even the most unlikely one. Sometimes a concealed area might offer an extra clue!

Don't get intimidated by firey creatures (by the way, absolutely fantastic!) nor dark grottos (with twists and turns that will amaze you)! Click all the TP spots as they might offer new chances!!

London and I had a lot of fun especially because this is not the type of game you solve in an hour or two. It needs work, patience, power of deduction and a good eye! Congratulations are in order to Edenlee Fallen and Aries Oh, the creators. :) Drop by the Heart of Dragons for the Spring Slaughter and drop a comment here on how the game went for you and what you thought of the sims. We would love to know! Oh, and London and I did solve the mystery! Yay! When you fill out the HUD with the correct info, it will give you a message showing that YOU GOT IT!!

UPDATE: Check the first pic of the post again and you will see a list of names!

London and I are now listed as having solved the Springtime Slaughter Mystery! Yay!

We dare you!! The Mystery of Lord Edmund!

London and I stumbled upon this quest the other day. We love adventure quests and are always very curious to see what they are about. Now, we dare you to take the quest as well!

When you TP to Teista, you arrive in the gardens that belong to Castle Dark Draconis (set to midnight for a more immersive experience). At Landing Point, touch the poster of the "Mystery of Lord Edmund" to start! London took all the shots and prepared this cool preview for all of you to enjoy! The last one of this first sequence is of the poster mentioned before. The other photos were taken in several locations of the sim! :)

As you touch the poster, you are given a notecard (NC) with the tale of Lord Edmund. This is his story. While trying to get to his cousins, Lord Edmund's ship sinks and he is the sole survivor. It is said a stranger helped him. After saving Edmund, this stranger whispered into his ear and shared something so shocking that Edmund’s hair turned white and he could never speak again. Apparently Lord Edmund made it back to Draconis but never to his cousins. Why? And who was the stranger? No one is sure. Draconis is now home to vampires and other creatures, it is said. They took over right after Lord Edmund returned. But where is Lord Edmund? And is he the ghost roaming about? Only a mortal can set him free to rest in peace. That is the challenge!

The NC with the story also contains the first clue. You are looking for Garlic Bags , crosses and a number of other objects. Some of them are quite difficult to find! But what is a good challenge without a bit of effort! The most important thing is to pay very close attention to every location (explore the surroundings in detail) and to read the hints carefully. If you get lost, trace your steps back to the last spot where you found something and restart from there. (LnL hint: create a folder and name it ********Quest, for example; the multiple asteriskes will make sure that this folder is the first one after the SL default folders, so it will be easier for you to find it; place the objects and NCs you receive along the way there for an easier access whenever you need to use them! It is also helpful to rename the notecards with reference to the clue given/location,where they were found since some of them share the same name). Explore all the hidden corners and have fun!!

For additional info, visit the Quest's blog here! If you get totally stuck and feel like going ARGH!!!!!!, IM Divalin Magic or Talya Barzane for a hint.

This quest is very interesting! It took a lot of work to organise and set up, and it is a true challenge for anyone who likes something a bit more complex than roaming about aimlessly in SL! Are you ready? Then click here! Your ship to Teista and Lord Edmund awaits! Enjoy! :)
