1-2-3 What's in a name? That which we call a rose

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."

Shakespeare would have loved to know her. A woman full of thought. Full of knowledge. Full of wisdom. A person so humane, so big it is incomprehensible. She is amazing, she is a gift of the stars.

Her name means "God's promise". Her name has been the name of Queens and Empresses.

Her name is Liz, Lizzie to be exact, and she is the first L in LnL!! And this post is devoted to her for her beauty, for her wisdom, for how great she is. She has written 123 stories , 123 writings to challenge our thoughts, to stir our brain cells.

Written with mastery, written with love, written with heart. One thing I can tell you is that if you read those writings you will go in them and won't come out without getting a big surprise!!

Lizzie's Blog is a rose to water every day, to read, to smell, to love. Thanks Liz for giving us the beauty of your creation. You are a wonderful writer, and William was so right, with your name you smell so sweet :-) !!! Click here to see what I am talking about!!

White Tiger Mentors :)

The White Tiger Mentors are a member of the approved Resident Help Network (RHN), the official Linden Lab's program. The group offers help for new users, tutorials, free shopping, lessons, live help.

Helping others is something London and I have always wanted to do. We have been doing it informally over the years, assisting new residents in Second Life. After completing the training and undergoing a Roleplay exam, London and I officially became White Tiger Mentors! Yay!! Now a bit more about the The White Tiger Mentors. We have a Help and Learning Island for new and not that new residents where we took a few photos to introduce the Island to you!

As you land, you are in an area with a lot of information. Let it all rez and check everything, including this box with the White Tiger, a gift LnL gave to the group and to all dropping by the Island.

Along this path you have a lot of tutorials with important information, for Viewer 2 and other Viewers as well. On a lighter note, you can hopscotch (like London!). This is a fun way of learn ing how to hop on a poseball!

After walking through one of many tutorial areas, you can rest a bit and relax in the Medieval area. There you have lounge areas and a lot of cool free items. This is great for those who are starting in SL and have a prety empty inventory.

Here is another view of the Medieval Market, a very nice place, with very friendly people, to practice your skills. Everything is set to learn in a fun and realistic way. By the well where London is, you can practise your camera controls and look inside to see what is in there!

A beautiful place and a great group set up with much care by an awesome team -- Treacle Darlandes, Benji Nakamori, Slatan Dryke, Till Pierce, among others!

You will see London and I often out there helping out! Now, it's time to get to work! Does anyone need any help? :)

One year anniversary at LnL!

April 22 2009. London and I had just changed our SL life completely for reasons that went beyond our choices. Scattered all over the grid were our friends. With no place to meet, we felt that a good way to stay in touch would be to create a group. And that was how L&L Square was born, a square where we could "meet"! After many unexpected turns, LnL became a brand as well. A very small clothing store was opened at first with TShirts only. Then we felt the need to expand considering the good feedback and results we got. The collection started offering complete outfits as well. April 22 2010, LnL continues to gather people, its starting objective, through events, for instance a weekly discussion group open to the whole grid, the participation in hunts, the creation of special environments for the hunters to enjoy a more immersive experience, a few parties, and there are plans to grow even more! There will be an extension to the store (check out the composit London prepared for the blog!!) with a new, totally different, line of clothes that will be absolutely amazing! It was a great year and London and I wish to thank you all for making it possible and for taking part in this wonderful project!

Worlds AIDS Day 2009: Celebrate Life!

December 1 is World AIDS Day.

London and I will join those for whom this day is extremely important in raising awareness about AIDS through Second Life. This year's theme is "Celebrate Life."
Several events will take place all over the grid. I'd like to bring your attention to the one organised by Karuna.
I was invited by Jenaia Morane, the coordinator of Karuna, to participate in a very interesting initiative. A collection of stories will be shared through narratives, songs, lyrics, machinima, photos, etc. I will read three of my texts... aham.. poems!

If you'd like to join us, the event will start at noon SLT tomorrow (December 1, Tuesday) in NY HealthEscape! Join us!

UPDATE: A big thank you to LoriVonne Lustre for her help, availability and information about the event.

Step Up! today :)

Content theft is more and more an important issue in Second Life. Every day, creators see their work being stolen, copied, resold, given out as a freebie. As recently as during Burning Life, many major SL creators and merchants saw huge chunks of their work copied and given out without their permissions. Whether creators are here for fun or for making a living, this is something that must be changed. The Step Up! campaign aims at raising awareness and educating all residents for this reality and for the urgent need for vigorous measures to fight against content theft. You can participate in this iniciative!

How?
1. be informed: http://stepupsl.wordpress.com/
2. get the Step Up! kiosk (drop by LnL and click the poster and the rotating box);
3. share it with friends and customers;
4. wear the orange campaign ribbon;
5. don'tupload anything to the grid today;
6. organise Step Up! events!
Again, this is about awareness and education on this issues!

Step Up! against content theft

Step up! is a campaign that aims at raising awareness about content theft. The concept originates with a small group – Angie Mornington, Gabrielle Riel, Gwen Carillon and Saffia Widdershins. But more and more people are now becoming involved.

Content theft happens when the work of a creator is stolen and sold or given away without the creator's agreement-- hair, clothes, skins, houses, furniture, transport, music, etc. Content theft discourages creators from creating rich and valuable content making your Second Life less interesting.

So to fight against content theft, join the campaign:

1. be informed: http://stepupsl.wordpress.com/
2. get the Step Up! kiosk (drop by LnL and click the poster -- on the photo above, top left corner -- and the rotating box);
3. share it with friends and customers;
4. wear the orange campaign ribbon;
5. boycott uploads on November 5;
6. organise Step Up! events!

Remember, on November 5th we will demonstrate our commitment by NOT uploading anything to the grid. Let's send a clear message to Linden Lab that we've had ENOUGH content theft!

This campaign is about awareness, education and celebration! Join us!

Photos and photos and sim hopping!

Oh my, oh my! Lots of photos in the air today! London and I spent part of the day reshooting some of the outfits against incredible backgrounds! We went from sim to sim a lot to find some cool spots and from all the locations we visited I chose the Crucible! This is an incredibly beautiful and well made sim with dark and unpredictable corners you stumble upon. Sometimes you get surprised, sometimes you sort of expect something to jump at you from the shadows! Unbelievably magical! If you get a chance, spend a few minutes, or longer, exploring it! It sure is worthwhile! Have fun!

News and more news and the world turns!

After a lot of work and work and... work... sigh... LnL had to move to a new location.
But what the heck, we never give up and found a new place!
Phew! That was the beginning of... guess what, more work!! Yet, we managed to reorganise everything and we are settled now!
The store looks amazing!!! It has two levels where you can find the outfits and the tshirts, plus a few gifts.
As many of you know already, we are stubborn yes, London and I, so we again have a lounge area on the lower floor with a nice theatre as well and room for a future gallery. On the roof, there is a nice area for parties!
September is going to bring events!! Get ready!! :)

On this pic, London is enjoying a well deserved rest building LnL Square's new place and moving everything in! He did a great job!
So, drop by for a visit and have fun!
